Seasons and Me

I am a self confessed seasons lover. The changes in seasons is in my top 10 natural highs.

I completely adore the moment the daffodils and crocuses begin to poke their little heads through the soil at the first sign of Spring. I love the warm glow of the sunshine when I stroll home on a Summer evening (this feeling also comes with a desire to drink a cool pint by the Thames....). I can't help but smile when walking through a golden pile of Autumn leaves. And quite frankly the moment the icy chill of Winter kicks in around November I'm in my element.

I cannot deny uttering the phrase 'I wish it was Summer'.

However, if I had to pin down my favourite season, I'm not sure I could. Each one brings something fresh and exciting with it. Seasons bring with them a feeling of catharsis.

I think the former florist in me has a love of each and every season for the way it effects nature and the view from my back door into the garden.
Amaryllis in January. Tulips in March. Sweetpeas in May. Peonies in June. Hydrangeas in August. Physalis in October.

Right now, however, I am basking in the delight of the evenings drawing out that little bit longer each evening. Hearing the birds twittering on my way home. Seeing the spring flowers decorating the florists window (and my lounge). Being able to walk to work with one less layer on.
